Driftwood Dental Studio was founded on the principle of delivering high-quality care with a gentle and compassionate touch. We make sure each patient is aware of their dental needs, and take the time to help you understand the relationship between your mouth and your overall health. Dr. Butler strives to build a rapport with patients and establish trust prior to ever working on them. She believes in starting small and building up to larger procedures as patients feel more comfortable. This holds especially true for those patients who are uneasy or have any level of dental anxiety.
Dr. Rebecca Butler is originally from Tucson, Arizona and completed her high school years in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She returned to the Southwest for her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Arizona, then moved up to the beautiful Pacific Northwest for dental school at The University of Washington. She loved the area so much that she decided to put down roots in the Seattle area after graduation.
Dr. Butler has worked for both corporate and private dental offices, honing her clinical skills, learning her strengths in the field, and taking numerous continuing education courses. Through that, she discovered that connecting with patients was her favorite part of the job. She prides herself on learning her patients’ complex stories, rather than seeing them as just another dental case.
When she is not reviewing x-rays or filling teeth, Dr. Butler likes to travel with her engineer husband, Matt, or run around after their mischievous dog, Marvel. After work, Dr. Butler will whip up a good Midwestern casserole and watch some reality television to unwind, but loves to get out on the town when she can. She and her husband frequent Mariners and Kraken games, and will never turn down an invitation to a good concert (especially if it is a beloved 90’s band).
Dr. Butler’s goal is to make every patient feel important. She works hard to create an environment in her office where questions are welcome and patients can relax, knowing that they are in the hands of someone who truly cares.
During your first visit with us, we’ll sit with you and get to know you before we perform any treatment. Once you feel comfortable and relaxed, we’ll take some diagnostic x-rays, perform a comprehensive oral exam that includes an oral cancer screening and periodontal probing, followed by a cleaning. Your comfort is important to us, so if you feel anxious at any time during your appointment, let us know.
When you visit Driftwood Dental Studio, we want you to feel like you’re visiting a friend. To help you feel relaxed and comfortable, we have a beverage station with cold beverages, coffee, and hot tea plus iPads to enjoy before your appointment. While you’re in the treatment chair, we have blankets for you to curl up in and headphones with curated playlists for you to listen to.
Using the latest advancements in technology helps us deliver the finest dental care in Mukilteo, WA.
Our digital scanner can take a highly accurate digital impression of your teeth and jaw. Digital scans give you the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D, so you can see what Dr. Butler sees.
CBCT, or cone beam computed tomography, scanners are a special type of x-ray machine that generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in one complete scan. A CBCT x-ray provides detailed images of the bone and helps diagnose diseases of all hard and soft tissue including teeth, bone, muscles, nasal cavities, and sinuses. Being able to offer our patients such a detailed image may help catch and diagnose a disease in its earliest development.
Lasers in dentistry have become more popular in the last decade. Our soft tissue laser can do everything from treating periodontal disease and removing extra gum tissue to reducing bleeding and swelling.
Air abrasion is a technique that removes small areas of tooth decay without a drill. Air abrasion is like a mini sandblaster used to spray away decay. During air abrasion, a fine stream of silica is aimed at the decayed portion of the tooth and sprayed with high velocity until the decay is removed. In many cases, anesthetic isn’t even needed.
